- In this second volume of his work focusing on cinema, Gilles Deleuze completes the painting of cinema-specific indicators, which he developed inspired by Peirce in the first volume (Cinema I: Movement-Image), by tracing the new conceptual practices that emerged in cinema. For this reason, it distinguishes a new type of image that is different from the action-based cinema that characterized cinema before World War 2, in which the sensory-motor chain is broken and thus has the capacity to present time directly. The main question in this new cinema, which Deleuze meets with the concept of time-image, is “.
